General job description

HBC Hanseatisches Bahn Contor GmbH (HBC for short) is a private rail operator based in Hamburg that performs shunting operations in the Port of Hamburg. Its majority shareholder is Hamburg-based zigsXpress GmbH. HBC also plans to operate trains in the future.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate hybrid locomotives (H3 1002)
  • Perform shunting operations in the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) area
  • Operate trains in the Hamburg area and, in the future, throughout Germany

Your profile

  • Completed training as a railway vehicle operator in accordance with VDV Guideline 753, or qualified as a train driver under the Train Driver Licensing Regulation (TfV), with the relevant additional qualifications in infrastructure and rolling stock technology
  • Authorization to conduct brake tests and inspect wagons (Class G)
  • Medically certified fitness for operational duties and a psychological fitness assessment
  • Resilience, flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • You hold a Class B driving licence
