ERC.SOLUTIONS GmbH – Engineering and approval consulting for the rail industry

We support manufacturers, converters and other players in the rail industry with the development, modification and approval of railway vehicles. As part of the ERC. Group, we combine technical engineering with approval management, safety engineering, validation and practical training. Our goal is to bring technical and regulatory requirements together at an early stage and guide projects through to vehicle type approval in a structured way.

Our services

• Approval consulting & Homologation Support: We support national and European approval procedures under the 4th Railway Package and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/545. This includes requirements capture, classification of vehicle modifications, preparation of the required technical documentation, and coordination with NoBos, DeBos, AsBos and other relevant bodies.
• Safety Management & RAMS: We develop functional specifications, provide guidance throughout the V-model and conduct RAM and safety analyses. For risk management procedures under the CSM Regulation, we support system definition, hazard identification, risk analysis, safety requirements and traceable verification.
• Validation & Test planning: We develop project-specific validation strategies, coordinate testing activities, support the selection of suitable test laboratories and agree on test scopes with certifying bodies. We also prepare test specifications, test instructions and validation reports for vehicle systems.
• Training & Seminars: We provide specialist knowledge in railway operations, railway technology and railway safety. Our courses cover, among other topics, approval management, safety methods and risk management, validation for railway systems, requirements engineering, and train control systems including PZB, LZB and ETCS. Training can be tailored to individual companies and combines theory with a strong practical focus.
