Does that sound familiar? The approval of railway vehicles is regularly a source of headaches. Our seminar clarifies the approval process: We explain what really matters when making a vehicle modification or building a new vehicle, which pitfalls you should be aware of, and how to avoid them. Practical examples and specific recommendations make the subject tangible for everyone with responsibility for the approval process.

Content

The seminar provides an overview of the approval process for railway vehicles and the steps involved in obtaining vehicle type authorisation.

Theory and fundamentals:

  • Regulatory foundations (Interoperability Directive, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/545, TSIs, CSM Regulation)
  • Requirements Capture and its implications
  • Vehicle conformity assessment (TSIs, NNTRs)
  • Roles and stakeholders in the approval process
  • Use of and working with OSS, ERADIS, ERATV and more
  • Changes to railway vehicles (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/545, Articles 15 and 16)
 

Practical training:

  • How does Requirements Capture actually work?
  • Which documents are required for an application for vehicle type authorisation in OSS?
  • How do I make changes to my vehicles “correctly” in the context of the 4th Railway Package?
  • What about the interface with Safety?
