Professional development and retraining The Northern German Railway Training Institute (NEF) is an official cooperation partner of Deutsche Bahn and specializes in training and developing skilled professionals for the rail industry. Its main focus is retraining for locomotive drivers (Class B) in freight and passenger transport.

NEF operates locations in Braunschweig, Oldenburg, Osnabrück and Bochum.

Practical courses for career changers and job seekers

Our professional development and retraining courses are DEKRA-certified and can be funded by responsible funding bodies through an education voucher. Costs are covered by the Federal Employment Agency, the Jobcenter or the German Pension Insurance. Our 12-month train driver retraining course is aimed in particular at career changers and job seekers.
